If you have read my previous post, I am training myself to run a 5K (3.1 mile) race in 9 weeks with a free program called Couch to 5K. The podcasts I mentioned in the last post are really working great for me. They are keeping me motivated and letting me know when it is time to run or walk as well as providing music to distract my brain. The weekend got away from me a bit, so here is where I am at with the program.
C25K week 1 run 2:
- I did another week one run and it really was not challenging me at all. I know the program says not to skip ahead…but I did. I always do things how they are not supposed to be done, it’s genetic or something because I can’t seem to help myself.
C25K week 2 run 1:
- The difference here is 30 seconds of running per interval. I felt it. My body wanted to stop at the old time and I had to focus through the last 30 seconds of running. I felt challenged, but didn’t end the workout ready to fall over (always a good thing, right?) I feel like this is where I should be at for now and hope that it will do as it says and help me achieve the next week.
I will continue to post C25K updates as I complete runs. Anyone who is doing C25K, please comment and let me know where you are at and how you are doing!
